Journey East officially opened its doors in 1995, but the store actually existed in our partners' hearts and minds many years earlier. The process began with a lifestyle shift in two of the partners' lives: one had been relocated to Indonesia (hub of antiques and handicrafts); another found herself establishing her home base in South East Asia (where she immersed herself in the culture and lifestyle), after having lived in Madagascar and Canada.

Solid wood never goes out of style under the keen eye of Journey East, AND style does not preclude an awareness for the environment; the teak wood that is used is recycled from old buildings and constructions. It is a winning combination: recycled wood is a beautifully aged wood that lends great strength to the collection, both in design and in construction.

Accessories and decorative pieces fill the emotional quotient in a room: whether they may be rich in sentimental value, linked to timeless memories; or whether they simply enhance the décor.

Living in the urban tropical gardens of Singapore , the lifestyle in Journey East is greatly influenced by the Outdoors. The new installation of garden furniture highlights great design and comfort, and most importantly – low maintenance. Using the innovative material Synthetic Wicker to improve on Mother Nature, the result is a range that is suited to withstand the impact of rain and sun.
